I have always loved epic films and multi media productions. They go beyond entertainment. They reshape who we are. Recently I have developed a keen interest in composing music for film, television and video games. It is my ultimate ambition to collaborate with producers and directors, as well as writers, technicians and the dozens of other contributors to be a part of making legendary productions. Sound Tracks is my collection of symphonic arrangements written with an intended cinematic style.
Featured Tracks:
Chase the Dawn is about a daring escape where two political prisoners held captive by a corrupt regime flee their captors under the cloak of darkness. If they are to survive, they must cross the border into a neighboring peaceful society before daybreak. On their journey, they encounter a chasm which they must launch themselves across the divide, but one of them doesn't make it and falls to his death. The remaining prisoner pauses to mourn his fallen comrade, but realizes the sacrifice will be in vain if he doesn't succeed in escaping. So he stands, walks, runs, then sprints for the border and, just as the light begins to trickle across the horizon, the prisoner stumbles into the protection of friends.
Magellan is the first installment of an intended six piece composition that captures the adventures of the famous explorer's world wide journey. The musical pace of this opening passage is of anticipation, planning, excitement and wonder of the voyage launch.
The second installment, Eye of the Hurricane, Magellan sails his ship in overly calm waters knowing calamity is swirling all around him. Underlying angst in the otherwise calm score epitomizes Magellan's frantic search for an exit from peril. The piece ends with a miraculous parting of clouds revealing shoreside towering cliffs with a narrow crevice providing a gateway to a perfectly protected port to ride out the storm.
The remaining Magellan installments are a work in progress.
